I’m loving all the new recipes I’m trying lately! Croque Madame with crispy ham.
Recipe via How Sweet It Is. In case you can’t tell, this is by far my favorite blog discovery in recent history.
I was totally prepared, wearing non-cotton (huh?) clothing and drinking so much water all day that I think I visited the ladies room at work once an hour. I even warned Dan that I was listing him as my emergency person on the waiver, so if he got a call this evening it was probably somebody letting him know that I passed out.
I got there and the place seemed kind of balmy, like an indoor swimming pool. I got really confused when I then saw people walking around in bathing suits. Turns out you sweat so much you might as well wear a bathing suit and take a full shower afterwards. I lay in corpse pose before the class started, squeezing my eyes shut and trying to pretend I was at the beach.
I’m sure I could get used to the heat and the scantily-clad classmates, but as we got into the class I really missed the vinyasa poses I’m used to. Also, any kind of yoga that instructs you to “push harder!” and warns “it should hurt!” or “your head MUST touch the knee!” is not for me. Not to mention the fact that I almost hyperventilated from the heavy breathing at the beginning, and the instructor had a chant that rivaled the auctioneer from ‘Storage Wars’.
Oh well, now I know.
