Bits of our weekend: On Saturday night we ate dinner at Chuck’s in downtown Raleigh. Considering this place is owned by the same people who own Beasley’s Chicken + Honey, I wasn’t sure what to expect (we were NOT impressed with Beasley’s limited menu and over-hyped hipness when we ate there). However…
Chuck’s was awesome! The menu is a few fun-sounding burgers, fries, and drinks. Simple enough, but they do everything so well! I got The High and The Valley (a burger with crushed avocado, bacon-onion jam, and roasted red peppers) and Dan got The Dirty South (a burger topped with pork, onions, coleslaw, cheddar and mustard).
For dessert we were talked into splitting an amazing chocolate milkshake with pretzels and homemade marshmallows. To. Die. For.
Even the ambiance was cool without being over-the-top. I was loving the color scheme of black, white and red, and the simple pieces on the walls.
We will definitely visit Chuck’s again!
